That day I had my very first flying lesson inspired by pilotfriends and above all Karlene Petitt I took a big leap and went up in the sky...

My first flying experience...no I'm lying..I've been flying to Ireland, Spain and Switzerland, in all kinds of planes
I must admit I LOVE flying, it's such an easy way of travelling, being at an airportis the beginning or ending of a holiday.

When I was a little girl I dreamed about becoming a surgeon or a pilot, but in those days we had no opportunity's to get into men's professions.
And, as a woman, you had to stop working when children arrived.

To make a long story short...
I was so lucky to get to know some pilots And Karlene, and they inspired me to go flying... why not???
One's never to old to learn, that's what my grandmother justed to say everyday.

I've been following Karlene Petitt's blogs for a while now, she's such an amazing person, and am very interrested in her Fly it Forward events.
Been doing a lot of thinking if I would come to the States to join the next event on March 13th, would have loved to do that.
But it is a lot of organizing, too short notice,
book a flight, organizing a place to stay, take time off..
So I asked Karlene if I could do this in Holland and her answer was ...YES, do it, make pictures and write about it....

And so I did, for myself and you and Women of Aviation, and I had a lot of fun doing so.. you should seen the smile on my face...I simply LOVED to go flying...actually steering/flying a plane....wow

Some day I hope to join you all in America and meet you all lovely people
Think this is the beginning of a new adventure.
